This year the march was different. We did not start at Phoenix Settlement. We did not finish at Kings Park stadium. Instead we walked from Amphitheatre on the beachfront along the promenade to uShaka Beach and back- a total of 5km.
Many new walkers joined in. Many youth were part of the walk. The walk was short and so the real walkers did not enjoy the short distance. A new group of people joined us. We had over 800 people and the feed back was very positive.
The message of Sowing the seeds of peace, nonviolence and ubuntu was very prominent and thousands were exposed to it through the banners, through the T-shirts and through our hand held posters. The purpose of the march to spread this message was certainly achieved. The publicity post the march was also good.
